Could the .22 SFNO be used for Prying?

I don't own the SFNO or any Busses but have had some thoughts for owning one or two. My question though is a hypothetical: *Could* a 0.22" INFI stock blade like SFNO be used as a pry knife, or is it too thin compared to other models like the Tank Buster, BATAC or ASH1? I've read and seen destruction tests validating the great amount of lateral strength INFI has, but was wondering if there is a minimum blade thickness for INFI to be used for prying.

Thanks!

"0.22 is not at all too thin for prying; however, the "0.22" flat ground SFNO has a fairly thin tip. I can't say whether it will handle your prying needs, but I'd say it probably should not be the first choice. The saber ground SFNO, with the thicker tip, would likely be preferable.

ummmm.....you should never pry with your knife (had to get that rule out) but I owned 21 sfnos and .22 will pry open a car door. .22 sfno is thicker thank sore smaller prybars I owned. Evolute is correct about being careful about the tip!

I managed to find a comparison pic in another thread of the flat vs sabre grind of the SFNO, and it looks like quite a difference!

I don't understand why people use their knives to do things it isn't meant to do. For instance, even though I'm not a huge fan of Nutnfancy; watch 7:58-8:15

Yes… but I would probably go with a saber grind (my preferred grind-type on most models regardless of prying).

+1  on the use of an expensive (for me, ANY Busse, unless absolutely necessary, wouldn’t be used for prying) Busse for prying…

Hey, that's an old pic I took a while ago...

These are actually a fat sabre grind (black) and a (stripped) flatgrind SFNO

Yes, but it has already been said.

I have a secret.......I have pried with an SS!!!! Those things are slicing suckers. I think it got it repeatedly to about 10 degrees.

Understood 100%. I was just curious because as many already know busse's INFI is infamous for being subject to much abuse, I only figured that prying would be one facet of the abuse it can take.

If you want a good midsized prybar, the Team Gemini is ~.260" with a thick convex blade grind.
