I would like your opinions as to whether or not you guys think that this could be an authentic and/or original Buck 119 sheath.
I have an old ('62-'63) Buck 102 with original sheath and the sheath is exactly the same as this one except that on the 102 the snap has "BUCK" stamped on it. This 119 sheath does not have "BUCK" stamped on its' snap. The strap appears original to the sheath. The snap does not appear to have been replaced at all. That seems to be the only difference, even the leather feels the same as the other and the stitching and construction is the same as well. There are no "BUCK" stampings on the leather at all but there isn't on the 102 sheath either.
The knife that goes with the sheath has the inverted "BUCK" stamp on the tang and also has the brown spacers. The knife also is one of the "barrel nut models" as there is a plugged hole in the butt of the handle (not the side). So, in my opinion, the age of the knife is consistent with the age of the sheath.
I'd appreciate any and all opinions. If you need more pics or want to ask more questions, I will be happy to oblige.
Thanks!
I've included several pics below.
