could this be considered Tactical?

This is the cadet model, this one comes with a handle up leather sheath which carries on the hip, and this kydex sheath which carries in the handle down position, all bolted together so as to come apart for cleaning and such.

I don't know how to define tactical, but I know what I like!
That's a great looking knife. It does have a tactical look to it, especially with the sheath system. I like the handle quite a bit, you don't see them like that very often.
The mild recurve on the blade is great, too.

Just my opinion.....
I think a tactical knife needs to be a bit more ergonomic.
A guard would also help, even if it's just a small part of the blade sticking out towards the bottom.
OR, if you put ridges for your thumb,
and carved the handle toward the bottom, so it looks like this:
(possibly leaving a hump in the middle, like a busse handle)

Then you might have a tactical knife.

I really liked this knife when I got the chance to handle it. It looks great and felt pretty good in the hand as well. Ron, did you decide whether you were going to thin down the butt of the handle a little?

I really like that sheath. Is there a hole for water to run out?

Thanks for your opinions guys!

Keith, yes I did thin the handle down, it now feels WAY better!!
being that it is made for handle down mounting, I figured the water would drain without the need for any holes, but I could be wrong, I haven`t done very many kydex sheaths before.

Doesn't matter 'cos thats an impressive setup. I think sometimes we get carried away with the tactical concept. It is not necessary to have X number of grinds and sharpened bits. I think that tactical is a look and attitude, that changes with trends and perceptions. This is whole opinion-rich area I don't want to step into too much.

Bottom line is, you have there a great utility pattern. It doesn't get any neater, cleaner than that. Even the sheath is really neat and devoid of unnecessary bits and pieces.

I consider a "tactical knife" to be something that works well as a utility piece and has some "fighter" influences in it. It needs to be able to be carried easily but needs to be capable enough when used ballistically. I don't mean thrown, I mean chopping / slashing movements. Keep up the good work. Jason.
