Could this be the Izula folder!?! Or a hopeless dream?

I hope your wrong Apec, we have been waiting way to long, but not for an upgraded Ontario Rat 1 folder.....I am on the notification list just in case it's an Izula based folder though:rolleyes:
 
Yep I doubt the izula folder as pictured will ever be produced. It would be nice, just don't think it will happen. The esee3 prototype that lion steel made years ago was really nice, that would have been a really terrific knife if lion steel hadn't pulled out of the project.
 
While clearly not an Izula folder, still a nice looking knife, I'll probably get a black model and an orange model.
 
Its pretty cool but I probably wont get one, I hardly ever carry my inexpensive knives anymore so it would just sit around with nothing to do. I like the zancudo although its a bit small but everytime I almost to carry it I grab something else in the small knife range like a cts-xhp native, delica or a skyline.
 
Yeah that's not the Izula folder. It's just another model in the Zancudo line

The Avispa is a frame lock like the Zancudo thus a stronger lock than the folders we designed for Ontario years ago. The Model One and Two folders from Ontario are still very good folders. We have always liked the handle that was on the Model One so we tweaked it with improvements on our original design. I like the spear point design on the blade better too so we put it all together in the Avispa. Interesting or not our designs have always been about being a reliable, useable tool and these latest folder designs for Blue Ridge represent that effort. Price is great too It should be shipping around April I think. Mike

So yes, it is EXACTLY an Ontario Rat 1 handle shape with a Zancudo-style blade and as a framelock. The Rat 1 & 2 were also their designs.
 
Any info on the blade steel yet ?
4" closed length, so I'm guessing about RAT-1 size ?
I liked the Zancudo design, but its a little small for me, a RAT-1 sized framelock would be awesome

That Avispa folder is so "MEH" it hurts. It's a new model yet looks bland and uninspiring IMO... :rolleyes::cool:
