Hi, All! I am new to the forum but you were recommended by someone at Buck knives. I recently bought a used but beautiful Buck 112 for my wife as an anniversary gift. It has a custom handle but I don't know anything about the maker. Buck confirmed that they didn't make it. In some ways it looks like a Yellowhorse knife but it seems like most of his have animals on them, and this one doesn't. Does this style look familiar to anyone? Any ideas who the artist was? I read that the slash after the "112" means the knife itself was manufactured in 1993, but that's about all I have figured out. It's a really beautiful knife, though.

I can't figure out how to upload pictures here, so here's a link to a Flickr album: https://flic.kr/s/aHsmQudYsB

Thanks in advance for any insight you all might share!

Beautiful knife. Welcome to Bladeforums.

Looks COMPLETELY like a Yellowhorse mod.

Although the Yellowhorse team uses a prevalence of wildlife in their current lineup, he's been doing this SO long that this is easily one of their works.

Send THEM the images. I can think of no onee closer to match.

It could be a Michael Prater "Painted Pony Knives" or Santa Fe Stoneworks. They both do custom handle work and engraving

Thanks! The turquoise does make me think it could be one of theirs. I'd love it if that's true. They have some great knives. Thanks!!
