Could warm up to the looks of spyderco

Man for the longest time I just haven't been able to get used to the looks of the Spyderco knives. Guess just not the traditional looking pocket knife I was used to coming up as a kid in last century.

I love all the knives I have which are mostly fixed blade Bark Rivers, ESEEs and Fallknivens. My pocket knife I have been less than impressed with as it seems to not hold an edge very well. I will almost swear it gets dull just riding around in my pocket unused in the office.

Really liking the VG10 steel on my Fallknivens, I ran across the Spyderco Delica 4 which of course has the VG10 steel and since I had a $60 loyal customer credit with a knife retailer I thought I'll give it a go and see how I like it.

Wow is about all I can say. It's renewed my love for a pocket knife. The thing is extremely sharp, kept the edge fairly well and sharpened up fantastic just using the strop and compounds. I was so impressed with it I now look like a dog with the mange as I kept playing with it and shaving hair. My arms were looking pretty bad so I had to give it a go on my belly as there is an awful lot of room and hair on a 2X guy like myself, lol.

The ergonomics seemed made for me in a pocket knife.

Well there you go, another new convert that for the past year or so wasted a lot of time and money not purchasing a spyderco.

Guess what, the looks have grown on me too after using that thing. I'll keep my Benchmades but this is the one I'll be carrying with me everyday.

Can't wait to try some more.

Ordered my wife the Endura 4 with purple handle. So will se about that one. Wanted something to carry in my slacks around the office is why I went with the Delica 4.

Looking hard at the military one now.

I was the exact same way, I thought the opening hole made them look weird so I avoided them for years, now I have around 20

I know what you mean, the blade shape and big hole threw me off a bit too at first, but I got a couple then a couple more, and more, and more, and it really grew on me. I love their innovation and quality for the price. I'm not so keen on the mid lock, but it works, and they make more than a few blades with other lock types so no biggee.

Spyderco has reached the point where they have a cult like following of people who love anything Spyderco, so they will ride the wave of success until there are no more waves. If and when that happens I will not predict.

It took me a few years, but I warmed up to them.

Yeah, the vg10 endura sabre grind changed the knife game for me like 10 years ago, havent really bought a non spyderco except my sebenza and 3 microtechs.

Sal says "All your dollars, they now belong to me." I started with a ZDP Caly 3 and am up to around 40. And yes, everybody knows when I've had a new one show up cause the left arm is smooth and shiny.

Absolutely true man. I used to think Spydies were butt ugly, but that all changed when my brother gave me an Endura... He more or less had to force me to take it! After I used it I was so glad he gave it to me. Completely changed my views on Spyderco. I've probably owned 30 of their knives since then. The hole is sexay!

They make good knives, and I've got around a dozen of their knives, but I STILL don't much care for the looks.

The look of Spyderco really grew on me. They're ugly enough to be sexy. Kinda like Lady Gaga.

Spyderco is far and away my favorite brand. Never used to like them, until the Gayle Bradley came in the mail. Besides th gb, I own a sprint Manix 2 cts xhp, a camo pm2, dragonfly zdp189, and a Caly 3 cf. I've owned a waved endura, nilakka, and the southard. They just weren't for me. Nest is a domino. Love the company.

Other knife companies make knives. You can tell you are using a knife. There is nothing wrong with that. With few exceptions, Spyderco makes edged tools that are an extension of the human hand.

Classic! I would expect nothing less than that from the man himself.
