could you remove the bk14 coating and sell it as a bk24?

Is there anything that sets them apart besides the coating? I saw a bk24 on ebay that just didn't look right and wonder if someone might be trying to remove the coating and give it a stonewash then sell it for more...

It's the same knife, just made from different steel and finished differently. You could pull it off, but as soon as the stripped 14 started rusting like 1095, you'd be caught... D2 doesn't rust nearly as easily.
