...so I bought it. Sorry Gary.

I just recently sold my beloved large classic with ivory inlays to a great guy and sheath maker G2, Gary Graley.

After pondering this one for a while and desperately missing my large classic, I broke down and got the large mammoth ivory w/Damascus bladed large Sebenza on TNK. After watching all the bark ivory ones go and getting depressed I didn't jump on one of those, the spirit of the Sebenza called to me, and I had to bite.

So, not so much a Christmas gift as just a replacement for my long gone friend. I know G2 is taking care of the other one. This new one will have to stay with me for some time.

Beautiful Sebenza! Nice Score:thumbup: Congrats on replacing your other one, and a bit of a step up I would say:D

Thanks guys. Not basketweave, but ladder pattern stainless Damascus. One of my favorites on the CRK Sebs.

Great, great score! Always been curious about the damascus bladed sebs; I guess that the steel holds a good edge and they make a good cutter, with a whole lotta class? Anyway you look at it , it is a winner!:D  :D

I'll tell ya Cutter, I have a few Sebs with Damascus. The newer breed of stainless Damascus being put out today is awesome stuff. It holds a great edge and sharpens to the point of scary. With all the blades being clear coated that come from the CR house, it makes them even better IMO. Not only is the etching now protected, but the steel is even more corrosion resistant.

Blackend -- simply stunning! I love the simplicity of the inner cut MI matched with the intricacy of damascus. It's like a mountain man in a tux.

Well put Fooj; Now I can't get this image out of my head. A bearded mountain man, with a bow tie, carhartt's, an axe in one hand and this Sebenza in the other.
:D

CONGRATS!! That is a beautiful knife!! And you are right, Sebbies DO call you when you don't have one or sell/trade one off. I have heard it myself a time or two.

Rob, that is very nice!
Regretfully the other mammoth has strode away to a new home
had things at home that called a bit harder, she will be sorely missed!!!

Sorry to hear that Gary. Thought that was the one. Hope you aquired a good replacement.
:)

Not as of yet, more things house wise and car wise took the priority
and yes, I know, with priorities that far outta whack, I should see a
doctor ;)
But, as I say, that will be a tough knife to beat!

And that beast strode all the way to Washington state, and sleeps next to me aboard a 45ft sailboat, along with G2 leather! If you like Damascus, be sure to check out Ray Rantanen on the web. He makes his with three steels including jackhammer steel. Also his knives made out of horseshoes are well worth having and I also purchased 6 of his throwing hawks made from horse hoof rasps for myself and friends. Great fun. Thanks again G2!

Glad you're putting her to good use! Great knife, sharp as the dickens too;

Welcome Ray, great to see you here on the CRK forums. Sounds like you're taking care of that ivory Seb. G2 does make a great sheath! I may be needing a new BTW Gary for this one...
:D

Gary, my condolences! :( But, to be truthful, I never really liked that knife, and you've certainly brightened some lucky guy's life, and . . . there's always another sebenza to be had.
