Couldn't make it to Knob Creek so I went to Oktoberfest in Charlotte! 200 beers for $20 at the gate. I figured that if I drank one beer every 2'10" I could drink one of every beer there! I don't think I kept up with that pace but I did hang out for 5 hours drinking unlimited amounts of beer from 80 different beer producers. I recommend Young's Double Chocolate Stout( London, UK)! After that I recommend the Left HandBrewing Company's (Longmont, Colorado) Milk Stout or a Highland Brewing (Ashville, NC) Gaelic Ale. What Else did I have? An Apricot Ale, two pumpkin ales, some Brooklyn Brewing Co. Pennant Pale ale, Paulaner Oktoberfest, a Duck Rabbit Porter from Duck Rabbit Craft Brewers in Farmville NC, an IPA and a Porter from Sweetwater Brewing in Atlanta, A St. George porter from St George Brewing Co. in Hampton VA., A Red Oak Oktoberfest from Red Oak Brewing Co in Greensboro NC, an Oktoberfest from Liberty Steakhouse and Brewery in High Point NC, an Oktoberfest from Rock Bottom Brewery in Charlotte NC, a Belhaven Scottish ale, a Spaten Oktoberfest (killer), a Rainbow Trout ESB and a XXX Total Eclipse Stout from Blue Ridge Brewing Co. Greenville SC., a Big Hoppy Monster and an Extreme Cream Ale from Terrapin Brewing Co. in Athens GA. a Dopplebock from Thomas Creek Brewing in Greenville, SC and a Corona at the bar across the street because I felt guilty for using their bathroom. Whew! I'll tell ya how it feels tomorrow if I wake up. Bye!   goonight...

youngs oatmeal stout is pretty good... but you have to drink it closer to cool then cold... still dont like drinking warm beer. though oatmeal stout would be the one exception id go for...

recently tried a chimay ale, and old rasputins imperial russian stout... both knocked me on my feet at how potent they were... if you think sierra nevada bigfoot barleywine style ale is strong - there are much stronger beers out there... still wanna try the double arrogant bastard... if it maintains its super fruityness, it could me awesome....
