Couldn't decide between the following:

18" Gelbu Special #1
18" Sirupati
18" Chitlangi

So I ordered one of each.

My wife will kill me if she's the one who answers the door the day they arrive........

Also, ordered a 15" Sirupati for my kid. She was really taken by that one. She pulled straight A's in school again, so I figured I'd surprise her with it. Took me days to finagle out of her what her favorite Khuk was based on the pictures.

I'm not so much getting her the Sirupati because she got all A's, but instead for her busting her hump during the school year. She works a lot harder in Junior High than I did in college. She's got a lot of discipline. Must have got that from her mom......

Anyway, I had a hard time carefully culling out the Mala and Chainpuri Khuks. I plan on getting the Mala for sure, but I can't keep buying too many sharp pointy things at this rate or I will be sleeping on the back patio.

I don't know how many pages of reviews and such I read. They all sounded good. So then decided to follow my tried and true method for selecting one item out of many good ones - pick the sexiest looking one!

But that didn't work. They ALL looked sexy.

So decided to rule out the lightest and heaviest of the ones I was looking at, and will decided which of the three I'll keep after I've had a chance to handle them a bit. I figure if worse comes to worst, I can always e-bay the ones that didn't win First Place.

But, I'm guessing that I'll probably end up keeping all or most of them. I'm a weak man (shrug - grin).

I feel your pain, both financially and spousally. I had the same problem with surfboards, trying to explain the subtle differences in shape and performance. Her stance on both boards and blades is that "one should be enough!" :barf: :D

I'm going to let my son try all the blades. Once he's expressed a preference, I'll order something for his birthday. At 12 years old, he's a big'un: 5'9" and 200 lbs (His hands and feet are already bigger than mine). We've been doing some weight training together...I've got a feeling that he's gonna favor the 21" Gelbu Special. :)

Yeah, you're right. He IS a big'un!

Know what you mean. Went through a similar thing with firearms - handguns especially. I've kinda settled down now with the handguns thing, so actually sold a few of them. Though to be honest, I never sold a gun or any other hobby item that I didn't miss it afterwards.

My kid too is a big one. At 13 she's already 5'5". Not sure how much she weighs, but she is no delicate, petite little dafodil, guessing somewhere around 150-lbs maybe. My kid and I work out together too, so she's strong as heck.

She's got a lot of big boned folks in her lineage. I'm stocky, but only 5'8". But all her granddads and great granddads were big guys, the smallest at 6', and all of them built like bears.

My kid and I were sparring the other day (unarmed self-defense stuff), and she caught me in the left shoulder. Damn! Brought tears to my eyes. And not tears of pride either (grin).
