Today, a knife showed up in my mailbox. Not just any knife, but one I won in a giveaway. It's my very first GEC, my very first GAW win, and it's all thanks to L lambertiana . It's a beautiful knife that I know will be used quite a lot. And of course I feel I should thank rswanson rswanson as well! He was gracious enough to allow me first choice even though I technically got second(and I hope I didn't spoil your surprise!).

So I thought I'd start a thread expressing my thanks and to allow anyone else to show off their giveaway wins or knives they were gifted by friends on the forum or in life. And of course if you add a picture it'll make it that much more interesting(though not required).

There's a lot of great people on the Porch, so I know I'm not the only one who's thankful to a member here(or two!)

Congrats on your first GEC, thats a fine looking knife! Folks sure know how to make a fella feel welcome around here don't they?

They really do. That's why I decided to keep this in traditionals instead of GKD. The generosity of this side of BF is unusually spectacular. You just don't see that often enough on the web(BF as a whole is pretty awesome), but I think it should be highlighted as much as possible, haha.

Very nice! What a fine knife, a great prize, and wonderful generosity from L lambertiana !

I won my first giveaway this week, so I haven't yet received the prize, but even so it is fun to watch all of the folks giving to one another here.

Congrats and it was a very nice and generous prize. Kindness is found all around us and we should strive to be kind to friends, family and strangers whenever possible in our daily walks around this crazy world.

That's what's so great about this forum; on the surface its all about the knives we love so much, but look a little deeper and its more about community and tradition. It's a great place and for me serves as a daily reminder to strive be a better person for myself, my family and those around me.

The porch might not be a physical place
but still serves as a gathering spot for some of the best people around.

Ah, but M McFeeli I need to be thanking you! That GEC would've been another knife I'd have to struggle with dirtying up- she's just too pretty. Congrats!

Not to steal your thunder but my knife also arrived today. Pretty cool not knowing what was in the box and I was pleasantly surprised to find such a stout worker inside. It was even packaged with a little light reading material.

This Case is the definition of a solid user. It's already been well-loved by someone so I'm guilt free when I soon put it to use. I'll be proud to carry it and add some more mileage. Every time I do, I'm sure I will be thinking of Lambertina's GAW and have images of the fantastic Sierra's on the brain. Thanks again for the generous gift, sir!

By the way, great idea for a thread. I'm offering my first GAW right now and I think I'll make it mandatory that the winner post a photo when the knife is received :)

That was an incredible GAW, and there wasn't a bad choice. Congrats to both winners! Great knives!

Very nice gift, McFeeli.

All of the knives in the next few photos were given to me by friends of The Porch. There are three or four more that I don't have photos of.

And these two were given to me by a childhood friend.
