SWEEEET!!! The woods will tremble as you approach.

The sheath cost extra but when you buy the sheath they sharpen the axe for free. Havent had a chance to check the edge out yet post some pics when I do.

Couldn't of sharpened it better myself doesn't even need a strop. Take some pics in the daylight.

Nice choice. I think I recognize that tape (my sons Xmas present came this afternoon with same tape on edge), I'd consider it a good omen :)! Looking forward to more pictures.

I used to be a little sour on Council tools, but I have come across some pretty decent axes that they have made. It seems in the last couple years there quality control has gotten much better. My hats off to them, good tools at a good price. I think they are on the right path to survive as a company. Its very good to see.

Congradulations on your new axe.

I do wonder if they still have the dyes to make the Lobo. They are not my thing but I do notice that they sell very well on the auction sight. Any one have connections with them that might suggest they bring it back?

Looks like the sun's not gonna come out here today. So a inside shot of the edge .

Congratulations, LEGION 12!

I also recognize that signature “green edge protection tape” of that dealer, applied after the excellent job they do on sharpening an axe.

I had the same impression of councils a few years ago, but they seem to be trying a little harder or the resellers are stepping up. I've seen some nice looking ones lately. My son is getting a long handled Hudson bay for xmas, and it looks like it is ready for business. I'm hoping it is a made in the us tool in a size he can use now for camping and limbing and for a long time afterward, and it is distinctively different from anything vintage or utilitarian he is likely to get from me or anyone else in the family. I was looking at a Scandinavian forest axe for the same reasons, but ones first axe coming from a foreign country didn't sit well with me--like getting salsa from new York city :) !
