I've ordered it directly from Council Tool. They are great company and great people. I wanted their boy's axe for sometime now and decided to go with Velvicut series. I got the axe and it's great quality tool. Let the pics talk the talk :)

All in all I am impressed with the Velvicut series and like this Boy’s axe.

It is sitting in linseed oil bath now :)
Happy :)

Nice - I've had my eye on that one for some time. (Unfortunately, it's hard to justify, considering how many unused axes I have. Then again, why does one need to justify such a purchase...besides, I think most of my unused axes are smaller than that)
I think you may have just twisted my arm...

The regular and FSS boys axes are no slouches, either. I have a regular one to play with and eventually pass on to a youngster. Pretty usable out of the box with a bit of sharpening, though the handles are too thin for my hands; that is a problem with my hands, as I gather most like thinner handles.

That velvicut looks sharp!

I want a Velvicut Felling Axe really bad.

Looks like the fit and finish is great.

Such a beautiful axe. I'm in love.
You gunna put a finish on the handle?

Forgive my ignorance. On the sheath --- I don't get the small strap on the underside --- Is it designed so that if you unsnap the small strap, can you then take the sheath off "over the axe head" instead of slipping it down the haft? Now that I look more closely, It looks like its riveted, not made with snaps.

Beautifully finished axe and sheath, by the way.

The "strap" supports the under-side of the poll so that if you were to hang the axe on your belt, it would not fall through the bottom of the sheath...similar sheaths sometimes have the front and back halves of the sheath that extend tabs under the poll...I think the design is done to make it easier to produce which reduces costs...eh?

Peace, Rooster

On the sheath, it's what RoosterMod said. Provides little extra support / security when the sheath becomes stretched, which is inevitable with use.

That is an impressive new axe the work you did on the edge looks great. looks like a classic in the making. Thanks for the pics as well.
