So, this a good woods bumming axe? I am looking at a custom made, a Neeman, and this among some others.
I really want a all, rounder for hiking/camping. It doesn't need to be AMAZING at everything, but I do want it to be great quality, and be tough as nails.
I live and will be out in primarily hard wood country, so an axe is probably my best bet for real wood processing.
I want to keep the weight reasonable, but I am healthy and fit, and not a gram counter, so it doesn't have to be feather weight.
I have been a large knife guy for a while, but my roots are more BSA in origin, and I am trying to settle on a system that I am in love with, instead of just satisfied with.

Any and all input here greatly appreciated.

It sounds like a Velvicut HB would suit you well. The other axe to look at would be their Forest Service Spec Boy's Axe.

I've posted this picture before. The CT Velvicut is a sweet axe. It out chopped my Plumb on this Aspen. Both axes had their edges sharpened prior to this little contest. I carry it in my SUV all the time.

For the price and quality, I would choose it over a Neeman any day.
