My better half went shopping today, so that left me some time to slip away to our local gun shop. I had an old gun I inherited laying around the house...wasn't useful to me as a firearm, and had no sentimental value. The dealer was nice enough to pay a fair price for it (pays to shop local)...not much money for a gun, but just happened to be worth a couple of Beckers. I have two sons, so I figure in the long-run, they'll be happier to argue over a pair of well-used knives than some old gun that's sat in a drawer for 40 years.

In our house, gun money is fun money, so I had to turn it around quickly before it got spent on paying bills...turned out to be just enough for a BK9 and a BK16, ordered this morning! Should be shipped in the proverbial 7-10 days. I'll provide pics when they arrive.

Thanks to all who answered my questions along the way and occasionally directed me to already-existing threads. I should have read the Becker FAQ's a little closer...o_O

A few more posts and threads, and I may even be able to join your Becker clan...:rolleyes:

Good basic combo to start with. If you don't know what you want or to get, start with the basics. Those two make a great basic base, even if you are going to only get two total! Next probably will be handle upgrades. That's what I did to all my BKs even that "hated" 5. :D After I got an extra one of the one's I liked, or the discontinued I grabbed before they went bye bye.
