OK folks,

I know there are some flashaholics around, so... I was in Wal Mart today and noticed about 3 or 4 cleared out rows labeled "MINIMAG LED" in the flashlight section. From what I can gather they are due in at any time. If anyone happens to be able to obtain one, please post your impressions here, and your general location, if you would. I'm looking forward to one of these. I've had the Terralux Ministar 2 for a while and love it, but I want to see what the Mag guys can come up with.

I bought a Mini Mag bulb--LED replacement module----awhile back for like $4-------it didn't fit the case as well as I would like---but it works---no beam adjustment----fairly bright-----but I don't think I would buy another one----but in the end I'm only out 4 bucks.

Not sure if this is what they are bringing in----or a true Mag light product.

They are selling the Night Eyes (sp??) brand 3 bulb LED converters that cost just under $5. In my area they came in a couple weeks ago. I purchased one, and it is wonderful.

The multi-LED replacements have been nice to have around, in a way, but I believe that Mag is going to bring out something more like the Terralux Ministar- a nice brilliant light with a long throw. If all you've seen is the NiteIze modules, then the new Mag LEDs might still be worth checking out.

There are a few threads about this over at cpf. The best guess is aug 15. I will have to wait a little longer since mall-wart is getting them first and I kicked that habit.

I've seen the new 2 and 3 Dcell LED (factory) maglites at my local walmart, so I can imagine that led mini's aren't far behind.

I have one of the new 2D 3W LED Mags and like it quite a bit. I also have one of the nite-ize drop ins for the 2aa and its ok, but I sure look forward to seeing what Mag comes up with in a factory 2aa led...gonna have to keep my eyes open in wally-world.

So far there I have seen only 3rd party upgrades to the MiniMag. There will be a small maglite Led anytime soon and that will be great.

I swapped to the Mag Zenon on my 3D and it was a great beam. I bought the LED for my 3D and my folks hucksed it for Zimbabwe before I could try it. Maybe another LED later.

Man, I really need to get a job so I can buy these when they come out. I'll probably only buy 3 or 4 though:(

They still are not out. I guess m*glite is paying mallwart for empty peg space. That's a big deal to a retailer.

I checked 3 Wal-Marts in the Augusta, GA area and still no sighting. Lots of 2 and 3 D cell lights and the MAG converter elements in stock. Converted 3 of my 2 d cell lights and I am quite pleased. Beam focuses well, a little bit if artifact in beam on tightest setting, but not bad. Light is pretty much white.
Please post when the 2 cell AA appears and if it is focusable and brightness.
Thanks, Ken

Bought a 3 cell AA Mini-Mag the other day---blows away the old style mini-mags.

They had them in 2 and 3 cell---black and silver colors.

Will be getting a 2 cell soon---the 3 cell is a little long for carrying around---but good for home and car.

The 2 cell is a touch longer than the old style lights too.

Nothing at all on their site about them that I could find.

I hadn't heard of or seen the 3 cell AA Mini-Mag. It should be great for kubaton style techniques. Just be sure to use the carriers with the open bottom. That way both types should fit.

They come with a nylon holster and batteries----but the aluminium tube seems thinner than the old one---they also did away with the lanyard attachment point on the tailcap.

I just looked at them at wally world. They made it too darn long!

The whole thing is just to long to ride in my back pocket like the regular two AA mini-mag. Its a noticable amount. I'm turned off to them.
