Does anyone have one of these? How is the quality, how well do they cut?Are they any good for utility?

I use to have the CT 2 but sold it. I did get to look at a friend's CT 1. These are the only daggers CS still has made
in Japan, excluding the Sanmai Taipan. The impression I got was that they were a copy more or less of the Hattori made Kershaw
Trooper and Special Agent, right down to the grind lines. The CT 1 and 2 are not made by Hattori Seki but by Ido Edge
of Mino City just north of Seki. They also make the VG1 Pendleton Hunters. I found the quality to be good
as one would expect from a typical Japan made fully kraton handled dagger. The CT 1 & 2 have always been Aus8 and they are
now switching to VG1 although I dolt know if they are on the shelves yet.
As for utility, these are daggers, meaning designed for SD, stabbing/thrusting. As a result most folks feel they (and any other dagger) fall behind many other blade designs in terms of utility. But while not ideal, it will cut, slice, pretty much do what most knives their size will do. No problem opening letters or cardboard boxes. But the tip is narrow so any "near prying" is out.
The double edged design also makes them illegal to carry in many US States.
