Very curious about this blade...would very much like to know what the reason for making this knife a beveled edge is? What is the deal, the advantages? Does anybody own one, and what are your thoughts on this knife? I am looking to purchase a boot knife, and I am very interested in this one, but I've never owned a beveled edge blade and I just really want to know the details of why this particular edge was chosen for this knife.. is it sharper? More solid an edge? What's the deal?

I wasn't sure what you meant by a beveled edge.

I found a review that described this: "the blade of the knife is flat on one side and contoured on the other. I expected the blade to be contoured the same on each side. Other than that the knife is what I expected."

I would describe this as a "chisel grind". A similar blade with a push dagger handle from Merkworx, called the Seraphym, has the same grind. The Benchmade 175 CBK Push Dagger also uses this grind.

It should be cheaper and faster to grind this way, and as these knives are meant more for stabbing than slicing, will not matter in its intended use. A chisel grind can be very sharp for slicing, but tends to cut at an angle.

Have a look at Emerson's website for an explanation of the advantages of a chisel edge. (I re-profiled my CQC7-A to a conventional V, just 'cause I don't care for 'em.) Some custom sword makers feature a modified chisel grind, flat on one side and slightly rounded on the other, sort of half a convex, the idea being that a slash would curve and cause a bigger wound. I have no idea if it really makes much difference in that event. In theory the chisel grind is easier to sharpen. The excellent museum in Buffalo, Wyoming, has some old trade knives that were sharpened on one side.

I have handled one of these. I was really disappointed initially. The non-beveled side definitely contributes to it's super, light weight, and as mentioned previously probably helps to keep the price well below $100.

Yeah I ran into this issue when I ordered the boker boot knife ,when it came I sent it back and exchanged it for a regular dagger.....wish they would show both sides of the knife in their ads
