Counterfeit A100?

I bought a A100 in the for sale section of this site recently and I am starting to believe it might be a fake. I was looking at other A100s and it seems mine is a little different. First off it came with no box or papers. I bought it for $100 and here is the thread.

I noticed the blemish on the G10 near the pivot before I bought the knife. I thought, for $100 this isn't bad and I always wanted to try to make my own custom scales. Today I was looking at other A100s and noticed my pivot bolt doesn't seem centered like the others I looked at. Also there is no serial number on my knife. One other thing is the pattern on the G10 is noticiably different than my 2010 model CQC10. Please take the time to look at the pics and let me know what you think. I hope I didn't make a huge mistake.

I'm not an expert on the A100, but I don't believe that the pivot is supposed to be in the center. It looks like the other A100's that I've seen. The G10 also differs from year to year. I own several Emersons from different years and the G10 texture differs from smoother to aggressive.

This is marked a 2010 A100 but you can't see it in the pic. What about the missing serial number though?

There was a point that Emerson had trouble with the laser engraving and some went out without serial numbers. It looks real to me.

that's bad for $100, I doubt they would let a knife selling for that leave the factory like that.

Emersons also have "wavy" lettering on the blade.

No. Once again, there was a short period of time they had some trouble with the engraving. Only one of my fifteen Emersons is slightly "wavey". My newest 2011 Commander has extremely sharp and perfect engraving.

I'm not concerned with the wavy lettering or blemish on the G10. After all I bought it second hand for half off the original price. It looks like it has the factory edge. I might contact Emerson and see what they say about the serial number and lettering. I remember similar issues with them now you guys mention it.

I think real.

Wavy lettering appeared on 2009 and 2010 dated blades. Some 2010 dated blades also had no serial due to some machine problem then.

My 2010 A-100 doesn't have a serial number either. As stated before a large number of these just weren't numbered because of machinery issues. It looks right to me.

For the record I've never heard of a fake A-100. The CQC-7 and Commander are the only models I've ever heard of being faked.

Is your G10 the same texture? I never heard of a counterfeit A100 either but new fakes show up all the time. You never know. Its now in the carry rotation and I'm liking it so far.
