Counterfeit Hinderer's bought on this Forum

I recently went to a local knife dealer where I live and was interested in selling my FIVE (5) Hinderer's, all XM-18's in various configurations. He told me they were ALL counterfeit. I bought all 5 from members here on Blade forums. Can that be possible. The dealer said that Rick ALWAYS puts his logo on all of his blades. Mine have no logos. If this is so, what recourse might I have against any of the people on the forum that sold me the knives? I bought them about 3 years ago, and I;m having trouble going back and finding out the threads / people who sold me the knives. Any feedback, especially from a moderator, would be most helpful right about now.

Post up pics in the Hinderer forum. Likely they are just sterile.

Unless I am mistaken, I have seen more than a few Hinderers without logos.

Sounds to me as your local shop clerk is very much out of the loop. Hinderers indeed did come without logos, the bulk of which being the highly coveted dura tech 20cv ones. Only the past year or two have they done the laser etched logo to combat counterfeits.

Your best bet would be to send Rob Orlando an email with picture of all the knives in question

Best,
D

Moving to the Hinderer forum.

Hall of Shame is only for long term, multiple scam users.

I would email Rob and send him pics. Most likely they're sterile especially if you bought them here. I really have no way of knowing without seeing them, but it seems like that might be the case. I have owned multiple "sterile/non-logo/naked" blades and they're legit. But like I said, email or PM Rob Orlando.

I'd guess Mr. Shop Owner has far less knowledge about Hinderer knives than those on this forum. Post up some pics.

My XM came directly from Rick about 7 years ago. It has a 20CV blade. It has no logo or markings of any kind on the blade.

Sounds like your knife shop owner is a total newb and has a lot of market research that he needs to do. I don't understand how people can sell products and stay in business without knowing about the business they are in. I will also say that as a very active moderator on the exchange forum, I shut down sales threads with counterfeit items quickly. I have no tolerance for that at all. The supers feel the same way, so we are all on the same page as far as this issue is concerned.

I have a hard time believing you bought 5 different hinderers that were all fake. A lot of hinderers have sterile blades. I wouldn't worry about it.

The Op asked for input from a Moderator so ..... while I rarely say "Never" I find it more likely that something is/was amiss with your local knife expert. There are many many "sterile" blade Hinderer XM's and while it is a bothersome and inexcuseable reality that there are indeed lowlife sub-human counterfeitors of real artists work out there - I think it is unlikely Five(5) were procured from a BF site.
Here are a couple couple of my absolute "Real" w/o markings XM's.
Perhaps this "discussion" can be done with :)

I agree with everyone above. Very unlikely...unless the OP posts pics I'd consider this mystery solved:).

I believe he's already responded in 2 or 3 of his other threads posted elsewhere on the subject. Never posted pics though.
