First, of all if I were a counterfeiter (which I'm not, I'm a knifemaker myself), I would not want to risk getting caught by Ernest Emerson.

Maybe there should be a sticky highlighting what to look for to make sure you're not receiving a counterfeit Emerson. I bought my CQC-15 from a reputable source and I'm almost positive it's real, but all this counterfeit talk is making me worry a bit.

A sticky is a great idea. I post frequently on a watch forum and we have such a thing where one can post pictures of watches asking others to determine whether or not it's counterfeit.

At least having a checklist of tell tale signs would be a good idea.

If you are familiour with real Emerson knives I doubt a fake/counterfit would fool you for long.

I live in Taiwan and see a fair amount of fake knives from EKIs to Spydercos and Benchmades.
I have yet to see one that doesn't have some sort of painfully obvious flaw(s).

The pictures were crazy different, thanks gstrand for posting the site. Mine is a real one.
Here's a quote for the website: It's like having a second dxck! -childzplay...
I started carrying my CQC-15 as an EDC recently and man do I love it.

FWIW i have never seen nor heard of a fake '15, i wouldnt be worrying about that.

most of the fakes i have seen have been commanders.

though in a pic it might be hard to tell a fugazzi EKI (sometimes) in hand its usually pretty easy,
