Counterfeit PM2?

Hi guys. I figured this would be the place to come to confirm my suspicions. I received this knife as part of a trade deal. This was an "extra" and wasn't the target of the trade. Nevertheless, I was excited to finally get a PM2.
Right away I was disappointed with the fit. I couldn't tune it to remove the blade play without making it hard to open. After some research and a good examination I'm fairly sure I have a fake on my hands. Can any of you confirm or refute this?

It's somewhat hard to say without a pic of the knife fully assembled, but the shape of the blade looks off as well as the laser etching. Also there is no date stamp on the tang of the blade.

The show side liner should have 2 relief "windows" for weight reduction... I'd say fake

That was my first clue. I've sent the pictures to Spyderco as well. I'll let you know their reply.

Liners missing the little indentations from manufacturing, graphics are wrong and no date on the blade, jade scales are wrong for S30V blade....etc.
Fake.

Now it's time to help my buddy go after the scumbag on eBay that sold it to him.

There is no doubt that it is a fake. Blade shape is wrong, liners wrong, blade stamping is wrong. I hope you did not need this knife to make the trade come out.

No, it was a trade with a friend. I let him know about it and he is mortified. I'm not out anything. He's out $100 though which pisses me off.

So this freaked me out when I first thought I got a "defective one" but found out about the notches were supposed to be there. So glad it's well known now, I can spot a fake from a mile away.
