Has anyone ever seen a counterfeit Queen steel 43b? Just purchased one on ebay thinking I got a steel. there are too many things wrong with it for it to be legit, starting with the back spring being so bent it causes the main blade to close onto the liner and the liner is causing damage to the blade! Think I got bent over on this one. john2039

You need to post this in the Traditional Forum. You can find it on the main page.

thanks for your expertise squarshfan. in the fututure, if the question, is out of your league, just ignore it and leave it to someone who might be helpfull, and informed enough to shed some light for another knife enthusiast who may be a novice, but still shares the enthusiam of knife collectors without your kind of arrogance.

I read no arrogance, there is the traditional forum, chock full of helpful guys who focus on traditional knives, many of whom will look at posts in their favored forum and may ignore a post in general knife discussion.

They'll probably want pictures. I'll do you a favor and ask that this be moved to traditional for you and improve your chances of getting an educated answer.

John, you need to post pics and have this moved to the traditional forms. We have a large knowledge base available here but because this forum is so big if you want a quick response it needs to be posted in the correct sub forum.

Welcome to the forums.

Yep, there's arrogance alright but not from squashfan...

I'm moving this to the Traditional forum. There will be no more personal attacks or discussion of other members. Stay on topic or don't post.

That's actually pretty consistent with a few of the real Queen knives I have owned.
A few god pictures would probably clear things right up though.

The folks will need pictures before being able to help. As a registered member, you can post pictures by uploading them to a web hosting service such as photobucket, then inserting the IMG code provided by the hosting service. You can also post the web address of the picture wrapped in code, thus:

Please read the Traditional Forum FAQ stickies before further posting.

Who would forge an ordinary Queen knife anyway? They're only production knives. Makes no sense. Flymon make be on to something here.....

On the other hand, when they're good (which is usually) you won't fancy parting with them.

I was going to explain about Queen "Lunch Box Knives" but I don't want a butt chewin for my arrogance!

Lots of Counerfeit Queens. Research Queen Lunch Box Knives. Maybe on Levine's Forum.

Are the counterfeits just mismatched and jumbled parts knives sold as the real deal? Read about a guy in Titusville doing that 40 or 50 yrs ago. By lunch box I infer you mean knives that workmen made on their lunches?

I believe lunch box knives were "liberated" from the factory in ones lunch box. If not....please educate me.

The workers took knife parts home in their lunch boxes. They then assembled the parts at home and sold the knives where ever they could to supplement their meager income. The knives varied from very rough to not too bad. This became quite problem at Queen and they finally put a stop to it in the 40's or 50's. That's the story I've hear anyhow.

I forgot about this thread until tonight. WWWHHHAAA???!!!

And that is all I have to say about that.

Cool thread. I had not heard about lunch box knives before. Way back when I collected transformers, I remember wondering how overseas sellers on that auction site often had a new design for sale before the collectors knew that it was coming. I alway thought that the explanation would be something like the lunch box knives.

That is a cool piece of history about the lunch box knives. Kind of a "One Piece at a Time" type of thing. Very interesting. How did Queen put a stop to that? Start checking lunch boxes on the way out?

I hope John comes back and posts pictures. I'd like to see what he's talking about.
