Counterfeit SOG knives

We were just alerted to a couple listings on eBay that have some counterfeit knives. These knives range from SOG to Ka-Bar to Benchmade and many more. The seller is located in China, that should be your first tip-off that something is fishy. If you look at he knives they are not quite right and are slightly different from current offerings (i.e. sheaths looks a little different, finishes are not the same, colors are not standard colors).

I am not going to link to the auctions or mention the seller but if you are looking at knives on eBay please be careful about what you are buying. Also, if you have questions about the authenticity of a knife contact us and we will give you our opinion.

Be careful about buying knives on eBay or other auction sites and if the deal seems to good to be true it most likely is.

As a SOG representative, you should be able to use their VeRO program to have the seller banned. Your SOG logo is copyrighted/ trademarked. Since it is, anyone using it on the products they're selling is violating your intellectual property.

This kind of fraud is just unconscionable. China as our "favored trading partner" at its finest. :rolleyes:
 
I have found several that look odd...........different brands too..........:eek:

Outsourcing off-shore is a double edge sword.
As always the problem of integrity.

Any time you have a high quality knife or other tool you will have imitations and flat out counterfiets.
 
ive got a SOG Tech Bowie w/ tiger stripe pattern and a SOG Tsunami w/ satin finish and no hilt... both blades brandish your logos and both came with your sheaths (tech bowie-kydex and tsunami-leather) also both made in seki city japan... the tech bowie came in the companys box but the tsunami did not... both from ebay... are they the real deal just in special configs or did i get ripped off!!! thankz.

Those were real deal special versions we did at one point or another. I can't give you exact numbers at this point but I can try and dig them up this week if you want them.
