Counterfeit warning threads. To post or not to post that is the question

So anyone who hasnt blocked me probably knows i collect replica knives. In recent times when something comes along that i know is going to fool people i would post a warning thread. The reason being because despite me buying them the last thing i want is for any forum members to be scammed with one of these knives. But some have expressed my threads may do more harm an good. Especially if the discussion veers into the differences between real and fake. Some feel this tips off those responsible for these knives on how to make them more accurately. Others say it makes it easier for those looking to rip people off to have access to these knives and is nothing more than free advertising cloaked in a warning. So i need some feedback. Anyone is welcome to comment but i would really like to hear from the mods. I want to know what people wish me to do. Do you want me to continue making counterfeit warning threads? Or do you feel its best that people do their homework and not bring any more attention to the subject. I am fine either way. I can see positives and negatives on both sides but i would like to respect the wishes of the community as a whole. And the last question IF people still want these threads what information should be included?

Thanks to the Busse forum mods, we now have a reasonable rule for discussing counterfeits. We don't want to give scammers any help advertising their sales but we do want to help identify the bad guys.

Manufacturers get to police discussions of counterfeits in their own forums. Other discussions go in FEEDBACK and are subject to The Rule:

They may post pictures along with their thread, but only hosted by them on an image hosting site or their account here. This way it can't be opened in a new page to see the site address, or can't be located by the "copy image url" option, no links to auctions of counterfeits, whether live or finished, no hints to where they are or were. That way the discussion stays where it belongs, on "How to ID a fake" only.

Furthermore, no more long drawn-out trolling discussions on Why Counterfeits Are Good For The Knife Industry. We have a Dumbass Thread for that.

Ok I think that sets the parameters in which I can work with. My goal with such threads really is to make sure people are aware of certain fakes especially when hard to spot as to not get scammed. Thanks.
