Has anyone here ever had experiences with counterfeited Emerson Commanders. I know that many popular brands are counterfeited today and I just wanted to see if this one is the same way. If someone does know of this occuring, how can you tell if a "Commander" is counterfeited or not??? Thanks guys.

Welcome to the forums, Don.

All recent fakes I have seen have been really bad. It's a quality issue. Generally if it feels cheap, it is cheap. If a company were to come along and produce a copy that was as high of quality, they wouldn't need to copy it in the first place.

I received a free Chinese LCC as a promotional gift when buying a premium knife. The knife was unexpected, and I thought it was a great free offer. Yes, the knife had a few short-comings. The edges of the swedge and the bolsters was not as crisp as on the original. It had coco-bolo grips, not carbon fiber. The crosspoint screws were all loose, and some had a light rust. The edge was like a butterknife; more importantly, the bevel was crooked. Twenty minutes on the Edgepro sharpened it just fine. From the amount of elbow grease used to sharpen the knife, it seemed to be 440A or AUS-6. More to the point, if there is such a thing, it seemed like AUS-4. The liner lock did engage the blade with no endshake, but seemed to cross the centerline of blade more than a new knife should. Kind of like a liner lock with some wear. I have been told that if I bought the knife it would cost twenty dollars. For a knife to use when you do not wish to damage better knives, it is worth that price.
