Opinions and thoughts from those who own one? I was thinking about getting a CounterPoint II a while back but now feel the larger CounterPoint I might be a better EDC overall. May eventually get both. Thanks in advance.

I had one for a while, but gave it away. Its a nice knife for the money, but I am not too fond of the grivory handles. If it was G10 and a touch thinner I would still have it. Its a quality piece though and it was the smoothest, easiest Tri-ad I have had so far (that might be knife specific and nothing to do with the design).

Just ordered one, got it for $31.99 shipped so I figured I'd give it a go (can't go wrong for the price, right?).

Like the looks of it, we'll see how it carries/performs.

Are the grivory handles slippery?

I wouldn't call them slick, as RevDevil says there is some traction there (not a lot though). With the texture and the holes its easy to hold on to. I just prefer G10 or Micarta for handle material. Even though I know it is plenty tough, the Grivory just feels cheap to me. Plus it has to be a lot thicker to have the same strength (or it least that appears to be the case).

The grivory probably allows for a cheaper price point too. Like you said, I'm sure it's plenty tough. Thanks.

Indeed. One thing is that this knife in particular would lend itself wonderfully to some handle material upgrades. I can see some Micarta or G10 on these. It would make it a nice and slim all arounder.

Don't let the Grivory keep you from trying one. Its a great all-around knife. The handle material is more a form over function argument in this case. Although a slimmer G10 model would be sweet ;)

I have the 4 inch version. I have carried mine quite a bit. It's pretty light in the pocket. I like it for last resort self defense. Not so much for everyday work.
For moderate cutting I prefer the med Voyager and the 3 inch Holdout.
Counterpoints and the 3 "plain edge holdout is on sale at a couple of the more popular BF approved online knife stores.

Think it's the design, just got mine today and it's the smoothest and easiest opening Tri-ad folder I've owned/handled too. Thumb flick w/no wrist, no problem! It's a keeper for sure:thumbup:

Rock solid feel, smooth action, locks up like a vault, unlocks easily. I love mine. As sh00ter mentioned, they can be had veeeery reasonably right now too, if you shop around a bit.

Good to hear. I should have kept mine. Oh well, live and learn.
