I know that they were made by Camillus based on Remington patterns, but I would like to see either someone in the US get the Country Classics contract, or made by Cold Steel in house. Carbon V definitely. I just want to get the lockback hunter!

Any type of carbon steel, 1095 is fine. Case supposedly uses some type of 1095 for their CV steel, Camillus used 1095, Schrade used 1095, Great Eastern uses 1095.

I would like to see Great Eastern take a stab at the lockback pattern, a contract like this would be the perfect entry.

If GEC could temporarily revive Schrade for a short run (Fire and Ice), and Canal Street pay homage to the old Rigid brand knives, it looks like one of these smaller "Boutique" traditional knife companies could breath some air into the old, traditional, Cold Steel patterns from years past. Probably not the direction Cold Steel wants to go, though with folders like the Mackinac Hunter series, that are sort of Neo-traditional, they might entertain some slightly, more traditional, American, folders, who knows ?

Booyow, as they say. Hopefully just scored an Ozark Hunter. User grade, but that is all I ever look for!

Oh, I would too, brother, I would too! I LOVED the Ozark Hunter, have you seen what they go for on Ebay?

I would definitely buy one of the larger lockbacks (perhaps now with a Tri-Ad lock?) if the Country Classics were to make a comeback. I'm kicking myself for not buying one when they were available. Any of the steels used by Cold Steel would make me a happy camper.
