CountyComm Embassy Pen

I am happier with a clickie for daily carry, or at least a cap that sits on the back of the pen while I'm writing. But I got an Embassy Pen and I use it as a desk pen where the cap is no problem. The pen is extremely comfortable to hold and writes very smoothly. Best pen I've got for writing checks. :)

I say it is well worth the money.

Thanks Esav. Funny you mention writing checks, at work I do sign checks at times, sign the occassional contract, as well as other "traditional" documents. I had not noticed that the cap cannot stay on the body.

I carried clicky pens for a while, but I had a couple of issues. The pen clicked while in my pocket while cabling a crawlspace, and I was left with a nice black spot on my pants.

Any other pens you've had positive experiences with?

I generally carry a Fisher Zero Gravity. Cruddy looking once the rubber skin gets worn but really nice performance. Same pen with a different logo: the Police Pro. But those are clickies.

Take a look at the Mil-Tac, an Elishewitz design. It has an excellent Schmidt's roller ball refill. Tactical design but the cap holds nicely on the back.

I see Allen Elishewitz also designed a pen with CRKT, the Tao. I like the OD green, and the price is right...

I have both the black and stainless Embassy pens and I like them a lot. The only drawback I find is the caps. I write a lot for work and usually it's in my jeep at a bunch of different addy's. It's a pain taking the caps on and off at each place I go to, but on the flip side I can always use them as weapons if needed.

I had one and sold it off. I perfere clicky type pens. The stainless is very heavy and I got cramps if I wrote alot with it. But on the coolness scale I give it a solid 10.

I've had a terrible time with clickies and twisties stuck in my golf shirt plackards. Invariably I'll forget to close the pen and I've ruined several shirts with ink stains. So, while I like and have many nice clickies and twisties I favor capped pens to prevent accidents.
That said, consider the S&W tactical pens, specifically the M&P model. They are inexpensive and are built fairly solid. The cap is a very tight snap on and will snap on the back if so desired. The take the Parker style refills which means you can use their new gel refills too. For outdoor use, Fisher has a couple of new really small outdoorsy models that take their standard "space" refills. I could never hang on to the bullet models and lost them quickly.

Good pen, I will add that the weight of the aluminum one is around 40 grams and the stainless version is at 106 grams, thats what the wifes baking scale reads.

 Thanks, that makes a difference in pocket carry.

I JUST got the stainless version. Holy shit this is the heaviest pen I have ever held. It has a great feel to it, but it is just too heavy. I am sending it back for the aluminum version. I really like the look and feel of the stainless, but it is just too heavy. It actually busted through the cap of the tube they send it in. The O ring at the top of the threads was also torn when it arrived. At any rate, I wish it weighed less....great looking pen.

The aluminum version actually feels lighter than it looks. It looks very robust but it's easy to write with and doesn't drag down a shirt pocket badly.

This is my daily work pen, it is a Michaels Fat Boy Silencer. It is aluminum also, and takes any parker refill. Visconti is my favorite.

I will report back to this thread when the aluminum arrives sometime next week since it is coming UPS ground.

I haven't handled a stainless to be able to compare them. The aluminum is well constructed.
