I've been buying a few axe's on e-bay latlely. Here are a couple Kellys. The one on the left is Kelly Axe & Tool True Temper. It weighs 5.24# with a O/A length of 36.25", head is 7.5" and bit is 4.75" straight. On the right is Kelly Standard It weighs 6.29# with a O/A length of 34.5", head is 8.25" long and bit is 5.25" straight. Handles are in good shape on both. I am proud of them. The "Standard" is heavy. It might become my new splitter. Sadly it cost as much to ship them as I paid for them. Any who, Do you guys know approx date of each? Or have any pics of yours. Also got a E.C. Simmons on the way, ill post pics when I get it, should b cool.

You should be proud of those, great looking axes. Post up some pics when you get a good edge put on them. Yeah, the shipping thing always gets me too. I got a Keen Kutter hatchet yesterday and the guy wanted 6 extra bucks to ship with the handle. A lot of ebay sellers a SO anxious to cut off the hafts so they can just throw the head in a box.

Would you mess with the patina on them or just leave them alone. On both, the polls are a little beat up. Should I round the edges or not. The handles on both are good.

I'd leave the patina. And the polls are good enough that I'd probably leave them, too. They're dinged a little but they're not mushroomed at all. Just remember, you can't sweep up metal off the shop floor and put it back onto an axe.
