Couple Little Guys

I picked up a nice little piece of 136 layer Damascus from Mike Turner a few weeks ago. He warned me it was smaller than I usually use, but I figured I could work something out. It was actually harder than I thought it would be. I split it in half and drew up a design.

I decided to take a piece of 1080 and work out the details to avoid messing up Mike's hard work. There are both the 1080 and the 136 layer nearly complete. I went with a light etch as to not overpower the little guy.

Specs:
Steel: Turner Damascus
OAL: 7.5"
Blade: 3.5"
Handle: Ironwood & G10

Knife 2 Specs:
Steel: Aldo 1080
OAL: 7.5"
Blade: 3.5"
Handle: Ziricote & G10

I have another one to go and will be taking my time and getting it just right (Fingers Crossed)

love the hidden tang and composite handle/guard thing. Handle design on that ironwood unit is excellent, if a little unorthodox.
Also, polished damascus is damn cool.

Thanks Kevin, I plan on putting the 1080 with Ziricote through it's Paces, I have never used Ziricote as a handle material and was told it would not take stabilization. I have a bunch of it laying around so I will be running this one through the 4 seasons looking for issues.

I like that one with the Ironwood and G10 composite, the handle shape looks very comfortable do you have a better picture of the damascus ?
