Here is a few I found cleaning out my dads barn, 1 is obvious collins double bit, good size too and the other single bit only marked US03. Any one tell me about the single bit. They had been propped in a corner head in the dirt for I dont know how long.

You are probably right about 2003, what style of double bit. There are more then I realized.

Looks like a Michigan to me, can't say for sure. The beard drops more than a typical Michigan.

Looking at the style you suggest they both could fall under michigan style

I've heard that pattern of single bit be referred to as a Cedar, but it's like a sad hybrid of a Cedar, Michigan, and a Hudson Bay.

I think that Cedar pattern is close, but still a distinct shape that isn't what that WV has. I would call it the manufacturer's interpretation of a Michigan pattern.

My understanding is that Ames True Temper bought the Woodings Verona factory and started producing the pattern under their name (don't know when).

Thanks, I really dont know much about axes other then there basic use. The collecting of them just started.
