Man, I liked how these turned out, but the makers posting on here never fail to take me down a notch. I'm posting these up anyway, just because I want to show them to somebody. I am working on leather for both today, and still need to build a light box for some decent photos.
The top one is 5/32 1095 full tang with a triple quench. I left the handle with a 400grit hand rubbed finish, instead of buffed.
The bottom is 5/32" Admiral damascus. This is a modified hidden tang design, and includes red liners along the bolsters and between the handle slabs. This design is more time consuming, but lets me get two 8" knives out of a 14" peice of steel, saving around $40, depending on the type of damascus. I think it also looks good with the single liner running down the center of the spine, but that's just me.
Both have blk G10 bolsters, SS liners, mosaic pins (which I friggin forgot to align on both), and Cocobolo handles.
