Both these knives mean something to me more than just a bought knife.
Ethan gave me the BK-4 prototype at the Spirit of Steel show, and I won the BK-7 in one of Ark's contests.
I don't remember exactly how I won it, but it probably involved snark.
Also, Bladite gave me the Texas Hunt Co. camo sheath, knowing that it was the only color I didn't buy. Very cool.
So I finally got around to ordering a sheath for the Machax from Ka-Bar. And I picked up some micarta for both knives.
I'm vowing to get the BK-7 out more and use it. I've long been more of a 9/14 combo kind of guy, but the 7 is begging for a beating. Soon.
There was a thread a while back about the Ka-Bar micarta being too rough grained.
I found these latest scales to be relatively smooth though. Enough grain to be grippy, but still really well done.
