I'm wearing my 15" ASTK in a shoulder rig today. It's one of the best all 'rounders coming out of the HI shop today, IMHO.

Jake, got any pictures of that rig?

I do, but it's ugly:P It's a Tandy shoulder holster rig designed for hand guns. I made a series of modular sheathes to carry my 12-15" khuks, my Tirtha Bowie, and of course my revolver discretely.

I've modified it a bit, but here is a pic of it with my Tirtha attached:

Is your Tirtha bowie sharpened at the top as well? Mine came razor sharp. I accidentally cut myself while lightly running my fingertip over the spine... just went a little too far.

I ask because I could see from the pic, if improperly unsheathing the bowie were to occur you could open up your armpit. I'm sure your fully trained just stating my own internal fears:)

hey i dont mean to but in,when there is a deal of the day like the gelbu special/with cracked handel, for 55.00 how much is shipping and does yangdu just take paypal only,or can i send her a m/o,man what a deal, been gone awhile been sick but feeling better, sold my khhi"s,i am kukriless.

Thanks guys:) This is my prototype that I have since kerjiggered (yeah, that's a technical term;)) around. The rig actually tilts forward when you draw and has a sewn in stop to keep it from tipping any father. When you sheath it, you pull back slightly on the tip of the sheath and it dips forward about 15 degrees. It's not really a fast draw rig, but more of a way to keep it available for hiking in areas where large knives are frowned upon by some. Like all things, it requires a combination of risk and a steady hand.

I'm wearing my ASTK on the same rig today over a tank top with a flannel over that. Pretty much hidden. I do have a modular snap system that attaches on the straps to help retail and balance different knives. For instance, the Tirtha comes up to my shoulder, but the ASTK fall under my arm. Without the snap in place to hold it more forward, the grip would stab me in the armpit every time I sat down:p

Anyway, this thread is drifting:D Long story short, if you want a REAL shoulder rig, contact a guy like Heber. I'm an amateur who dabbles in ugly:D

Bargs, If you stumble across something you like, you might shoot Yangdu a fast email saying: I'd like the XXXXX if it is still available, please. I can pay via M/O if that is acceptable. My shipping information is: blah blah blah. Could you please give me a total price, and I can ship the M/O out ASAP."
I generally pay by Check this way. I'm not sure what Yangdu's current payment policy is for new orders, though. It wouldn't hurt to send an email now so that you can jump on a DOTD when it comes up:)

Good luck, and get to feeling better:)
