Couple of bluegill I got this afternoon...

Nothing fancy, but they were fun. Caught them on a telescopic panfish rod and hand-dug worms.

This little one poked me a bit with his back fin...

Just fishing. This is my little 1 acre pond. It's got largemouth's, bluegill, and catfish.

Bluegills are good eating (Crappie too). In the SW part of AZ, we can fish for them in the irrigation canals. Some of them can almost reach the size of a standard dinner plate!

I love fishing for panfish mostly bluegills! Nice ones you have there and that must be great having a small pond in your yard!!!!

i prefer the taste of perch over even crappie. i find the meat somewhat richer & ca'nt eat as many but the taste is more delicious.---dennis
