Picked up two inexpensive sunfish knives.....out of curiousity...
Rough Ryder black and Blue.....China origin
Mitchell limited Edition.....USA made
1. Both are Pretty tonthe eye, pleasing to look at
2. Rough Ryder $25 ...the Mitchell $ 38
3. quality of workmanship .......Rough Ryder wins
the Rough Ryder has better fit, half stop on blades, nice polishing, attention to detail..LOVE THE BLADE SHAPES!
the Mitchell, a little of clunky blade opening, no half stop, some tool marks o on the bolsters and blades..somewhat weaker..spring tension..but with some Flitz polish and elbow grease.....its a looker for sure
.the scales are nice with that abolone inset, has a cute sunfish etching on blade, and a sunfish on the scale, its stout and usable, its very sharp with a good grind..I am going to keep it......
.but the rough Ryder at almost 1/2 the price, wins the quality contest
