My first actually.
I traded for this awesome Core Knife Co. camp knife with no sheath. I can't use it if it has no sheath but I'm broke so I had to resirt to the recycle bin,
I used the USPS box that it came in, duct tape in and out, some of the inner tube that I found on a hike and Voila! Bushcraft hobo style!
I lined the inside so that cardboard won't abrade the blade sides or edge. The folds came out very precisely and the fit is tight. Still....it's cardboard.
I ran across a pack of scrap leather called a farmers Pack at the craft store. Usually they have that thin stuff mafe from scroti bujt this was thick enough to use for a sheath. I did have to use two layers of welt and I had some trouble drilling the stitch holes but I am happy with it nonetheless. The fit is again tight and the square bottom means that it is Bushcraft!
Regretfully I think that the leather isn't veg tanned and already had cause a bit of rust. I'm going to give it a baking soda bath and see what that does.
Thanks for looking.
