I went to a small knife club show last weekend and came home with these. The first one is a Case TBV52110 SS. I can't seem to find one like it anywhere on the web. The fit and finish are as good as anything I've seen. The walk and talk, to me anyway, are just right.

This one is a Boker 499R. Fit and finish are only about a 5 - 6. This one will make a good everyday work knife.

That Boker barlow is a vary nice knife. I would be proud to have that one in my pocket. How is the pull? Is the wood treated? It does not look to be. If not perhaps you plan on applying some linseed oil ?

Love the swedge on that Case!

Bob,
You picked two neat knives.
The Case looks pretty special and the Boker looks like a great carrier and user.

I like them both but that Case is really something. Great find.

Good score Bob, like the others I am attracted to the Case = lovely combination of colours to have a awesome looking knife, the Boker - as plain as it is-I imagine this knife to look better and better with age - especially that wood.
Has the Boker got a Carbon or Stainless blade?

Two very nice knives Bob

nice looking knives! especially the case, its called a saddlehorn, ive got one but my blades are bright stainless, one of the more interesting handles as far as slipjoints go
Great finds

Thanks for the comments everyone. That saddlehorn, as odd looking as it is, is very comfortable in the hand and in the pocket. One like this could very well make an EDC. The Boker I really don't know anything about. I believe the handles have been treated with something as they have a pretty good sheen. The blade is stainless. Can anyone tell me about the coating on the blades on the Case?
Bob

The Saddlehorn is often unjustly overlooked. I've got a similar one Barehead in Bonestag 6.5 with really chasm like jigging. Like yours, the fit&finish are impeccable and above all else, this pattern sits in the hand really well. Like some flintlock pistol with its curved shape it's just ideal for me at least, rather similar to certain regional European knives in that respect.

Thanks, Will
