Hello!
Here are a few recent additions to my collection.
First a couple of D'Lischious blades in my favourite handle material - stag. One came from the private colletion of John Cohea and I still feel privileged that John let me grab it - it sports a fabulous feather pattern and an ending that couldn't go any better with John's breathtaking sheath imho.
The other one just came in from Dave, has a split mosaic pattern unlike anything I have ever seen, and that simply everywhere - from the blade all the way through the split-ring guard right to the sexy backside. Did I allready mention that the handle is wonderfully popcorny?
Some images - proper studio shots will follow shortly.
Both, next to one another:
A first closer look:
John's sheath is just brilliant imo:
Oh, and not to forget, John was kind enough to send one of these my way as well...
Next up is a matched set of hunters by Dionatam Franco - the idea was to use his great twist damascus to do a matched, yet different set.
The blades are the result of an 8-bar twist and the handles are both Amboyna, one redish, the other yellowish. Both cut like the devil.
Some images - first, both next to one another:
And some for size refefencing:
Next is my latest piece by Milan Mozolic - a Khukuriesque chopper. It sports 8mm of differentially tempered W5 (tempering line is faint and not really showing in the image) and delivers quite a substantial blow. The sheath is also done by Milan and is made for carrying the rig over your shoulder. Turned out great imo.
First images:
Last but not least is an amazing dagger by Salem Straub - it allready had a thread of it's own, Salem had started, so it does not need any more words, I guess. The only thing I can say is that I am really floored by the work Salem put out again.
First image:
And a first look at the details:
Will try to add more images after the weekend.
As a parting note for now I want to thank each and every one of you guys for letting me grab such wonderful pieces! I thoroughly enjoyed going through these projects with you!
Best regards,
Alex
