Picked up a couple of new Case knives the other day. I had not bought a new Case in many years. Picked up a large stockman and an anniversary trapper.
Initial impressions are very positive, appear to be very well made and the size of both fit my hand very well.
I did have a question, I am pretty new to the board and I don't see a forum dedicated to Case knives, I would have thought that with their popularity over the years there would be a collectors section for Case. Am I just missing something, I have been accused of being blind and deaf from my wife.

Very nice choices. I picked a medium stockman recently and love it. It does all my dirty work around the house.

Nice Stockman, Augie. I've frequently been carrying a Case Texas Jack in CV with the same scales as your Stockman I acquired recently and have been very pleased with it. Hope your Stockman works as well for you.

That Anniversary Trapper is a real looker! How is the F&F?

Fit and finish is quite good, scale fit is as good as anything else I own, smooth red bone. Opens easier than my GEC but does not have the precise feel that they have and the stops are not as well defined but it is half the price. Blades came sharp.

There is no dedicated Case sub-forum, nor is there one for Queen, Canal Street, GEC, or the other traditional manufacturers, with the exception of Buck, who does have their own forum here. We discuss all of those and many more here in the Traditional sub-forum, however.

I have an identical stockman and have been considering that trapper. Very nice knives indeed. So is that a Millers Falls #4 in the background?

It's a 9C in real nice shape, really a nice plane. My Grandfather worked there and at Greenfield Tap&Die.

I've been carrying that same exact large Stockman for about 6 weeks now and it's a FINE choice. I really love mine :)

It is my understanding that for a knife manufacturer to have their own subforum they only have to want one and provide a company rep to moderate it. No money involved but probably not too easy for some of the smaller companies to have a salaried employee doing social media. Case could do it but probably don't need to worry about this kind of marketing considering how well distributed they are.

Back on topic, I too have purchased 3 new Case knives (small stockman, medium serpentine stockman & a jr scout--all awesome) this year after about 5 or 6 years since last buying one--a Seahorse.

I thought there would be a dedicated forum to Case knives as well.

weird.

Case doesn't have a dedicated forum because they do not pay for one. Plenty of threads about them though! :)

This is not correct.

There is no charge for a manufacturer to have a dedicated forum at BladeForums. The only requirements are that they ask the owner for a forum and that they supply a moderator.

As to why Case has not chosen to do that, you would have to contact them and ask.
