Couple of new Kershaws

Found these hitting some places for the holidays, part of a 3 piece set with a flashlight. (typical short 9 LED that uses 3 AAA batteries that you see everywhere)

Top one is a 3850BLK "Manual Swerve"
Bottom one is a 3840BLK "Manual Freefall"

Oddly, while both knives are listed as "Speedsafe" assisted openers on Kershaw's website, both of these are "manual" openers and do not have the "Speedsafe" feature. And while both knives are listed as having "8CR13MOV" steel on Kershaw's website, the packaging for these says "3CR13MOV".

Both have the Kershaw "K texture" grip. Both have pocket clips that are reversible for lefties and are tip-up only, and have flippers.

Out of the package, both were shaving sharp and neither had any blade play at all.

I want to try out the freefall even tho im not big on China made Kershaws ( I also took a shot on Thermite and love it)
 
I would love to see a manual freefall in a steel stronger than butter.
 
Do they have scales that are something other than black, or is it just the lighting? Either way, they look sweet. Does the K-texture add or detract any from the grip of the knife? It intrigues me, but not enough to buy anything yet :D

Just black is all I've seen on them. I like the K-texture, but I'll tell you that I took them to my monthly gun club meeting this week and a buddy that carries a "Skyline", thought the scales were to slick, so I guess it's a personal preference.

Nope, got the cardboard insert from the packaging right here, and it says "3CR13MOV" the regular "Speedsafe" versions of these, are listed as having "8CR13MOV" on Kershaw's website, but I can't really find these "manual" versions on it???
