Here are the two swords I made last week.

The claymore is made in 14 karat gold and set with 1/2 carat TW of diamonds. The handle is leather wrapped. It is a 3" kilt pin.

The wakizashi is 2" long and has all the separate parts. Blade, habaki, seppa, tsuba, fuchi, tsuka with tsuka-maki,mekugi,and kashira. Blade, mekugi, fuchi and kashira are gold; tsuba and habaki are platinum. I made it into a tie/lapel pin.

I also attached a photo of some the knives I glued up handles on last weekend.

You are a very talented bladesmith, Stacy. The claymore just seems to have a presence, kinda a talisman look. I like. Couldn't really see all the details in the Japanese sword, but your decription makes me want to see more. Will call next week to set up our meet. Hope to see these superb swards in person.

Dave

P.S. Can I borrow some diamonds? haha, just kidding.

Be VERY careful wearing that sword as a lapel pin! We wouldn't want any accidents that close to your jugular!!!

BTW, what's that re steel gasoline-can/teapot looking contraption on your bench?

That is my acetone can. The camera angle makes it look bigger than it is. It holds about a pint. I got it from Bill Moran. It is a nice old "JUSTRITE SAFETY CAN". The red paint is pretty age faded as well as having a layer of shop crud.

You must have the patience of Job, Stacey!!!
I couldn't imagine being able to work on such small fine things as those!!!
