Only ended up with a few since they were taken with a cell phone.

Here we have meat cooking on a stick. My stick was carved and trimmed and whatnot with the BK2, but since I only have the two hands, no pics.

And here we have said meat chilling on a plate/bowl/origami ninja star with a spork and the BK14.

Then we have a pic of the gear, which got disgorged on a picnic table once we got back down to civilization so we could compare stuff.

And finally a random pic of one of the rivers near where we were.

The BK2 got a nice work out today, and the BK14 did excellent for the smaller detail work. For wood, the Fiskars hatchet did very nicely. All in all, a really great day.

Looks like a blast. I can't wait to get back out in the woods again. Making me hungry too...

sweetness! cell phone pics of beckers outdoors beats centerfold quality pics of beckers indoors anyday! well, except when it involves a centerfold girl too then all bets are off.

Derek - How do you like the gearslinger?

I got one and haven't been able to put many miles on it yet. I've only used regular backpacks in the past. Seems to carry well, but not for an overnighter IMO. Condor II will be my next Max Ped purchase.

Thanks for sharing.

Looks great Derek. I'm looking forward to some nicer weather so I can maybe do the same. Thanks for sharing.

With my business I rarely get the opportunity to hike. Occasionally I get down to the beach, but then the bay is only sixty-feet outside my back door. Anyway, I live vicariously through the pics that everyone posts. I'm going to have to do something about that. As cliche'd as it may sound, life really is too short to put things off!

I love it. A lot of people said it would be a problem with the one strap and the way it would ride, but for as heavy as I have it loaded down, I forget about it once I get going.

Had actually just finished cleaning the mud off it. Thing is rock solid and handles what I throw at it no problems.

And the steak was incredible.

Hey Derek....

I am with Tradewater all the way...."Fire, knives, meat, outdoors...Yeah"....,,,

All Best...
