Figured I'd do a couple of video's today using the Going-Gear firesteel that Moosez45 was kind enough to send me. I also wanted to demonstrate why I love Fatwood and find other natural tinders pale in comparison.

First off a quick pic of the water I followed, this was a slow running stream last Summer !

Please excuse the quality, I only have a basic camera and just rested it where I could to film these.

First off I used some Cedar Bark and prepped it with my Mark Wohlwend PSK Knife, usually I'd take more time to prep the tinder but as I was filming I kinda rushed it !

Next up I used some Fatwood:

My Wohlwend Bushcrafter makes awesome little fatwood curls so I decided to try lighting these as well !

Hey pit, nice video's and pictures.
I am new to this and was wondering how to upload pictures to this forum. Can you, or anyone for that matter, tell me what I need to do? Do I have to upgrade or something??
Thx

Hey buddy for the vids I upload to Youtube first. For pics I use imageshack !

WOW!!!! Awesome stuff, Pit, as usual. Thank you, I'm honored. Thats some good fire bender, brother. I LOVES ME SOME FATWOOD!!! I really think those GG firesteels are the best. I love how the scrapings EXPLODE when they get lit.

I hope you are enjoying that firesteel, it seems to have found a good home.

Thank you again, those were awesome vids.

Great vids and I was going to ask where the doggies were but I see you included them at the end of the 3rd video.
What did you use to shoot the video's?

Nice videos. Cool to see it done. I have never had any fatwood but without it I have been unsuccessful in starting a fire with a steel and natural tinder. Tried again today on a piece of bark with some wood shavings, ground up leaves, and a few small twigs. Finally got heavy smoke, blew and blew and would have sworn that it was about to bust off but had to break out the dryer lint to get it to go. :(

Ain't nothing wrong with dryer lint, brother. START A FIRE. Nuff sed. We can prance about all day long about what is, or is not cheating. Last time I checked, no ref is gonna come out and blow the whistle for not using natural tinder. I use everything I can, and I make sure I have plenty of it on me. Wanna hear a cool one? I taught my little girl how to start a fire using the theads hanging off the baggy pants leg on her jeans. Talk about a natural tinder that you have with you, how 'bout them Levi's. There ain't no cheatin', there ain't no rules, start a fire, no matter what, no matter when, an you're in business. The rest is for show.
