E-mail sent. Even without a sheath or a full tang, that's sure to be a nice little camp knife.

EDIT: Dang. I'm seemingly not going to get a camp knife anytime soon! :D

was tempted to get Bal Bahadur kami's second work to go with his amazing siru.... but gah... I had to get that Ang Khola

email sent

GAH email system returned the message, was too slow anyway

email sent on the Bal Bahadur BAS

Both of these are the size/weight I was eyeing as my next one. Close the computer to drive home, and look what happens. Ah well, there is always next time.

Good sharking bennyb.

15" overall for a camp knife IS little. How often do you go camping? ;)

Then again, I was under the impression that "survivalists" would say the perfect jack-of-all-trades survival knife should have only about 5-7" blade (so 11-13" OAL) and a weight of about a pound, which I guess would make sense if a) you bivouac in different locations every night, b) you are not in great physical shape, or c) you have other junk to carry such as backup knives.

In my opinion, given my size, anything below 16.5" OAL lacks reach and heft and thus gets tedious to use very fast unless the spine thickness and the weight are about 7/16" and 28-30oz respectively, as in the AKB for example.

I like the thick heavy blades - i handed one to friend and he said

"wow you dont even have to use the sharp edge; you could just slap somebody with the flat side and knock 'em stupid for a lifetime"

i had never thought of it that way but he does have good a point - (no pun intended)

Wowza! Those are screamin' deals. I dunno which one I would have bought first. Very, very, cool blades:D:thumbup:

wow... even though I completely missed the dotd, yangdu sold me a different Ang Khola for the same deal!

this makes my second khukuri... if the DOTD continues to be such an awesome deal, I dont know if I can survive it!

She sold me a 12" CAK (just what I wanted!) for only a bit more. She sure is great. :)
