If only this pen were 18". I really like the walnut handle. Someone get this. Every minute more I look at it, the more I like it.

Those Villager pens rock! They are really sharp guys. As for the size, 12" is handy and 15" is perfect. Easy to carry, and if I wanted a pen in 18" I would just use an 18" HI WWII, because that's what it looks like in that size. I think that's probably why we haven't seen more large ones.

Last year I scored a little 12" baby chit in horn. Wish I had seen this one instead as I like the handle a lot more.

I know what you're saying Svashtar. I have a 14.5 inch pen with an elk handle and it's very nice. However, I just received my first 18 WWII and I absolutely love the length. I'd be curious to hear more about how people feel about the 18 pen. I also have a 17.5 ganga ram that is my favorite for big chopping. I just assume that an 18" pen would be great too. I also really like this pen handle.

Must Resist...have other HI goals...It is difficult:D

I know the feeling. I've been saying that to myself for the last month (since I got my new job and actually have the $ for HI goals). And lo and behold, in the last three or four days two of my HI goals come up, hit me in the face and run in the other direction! I missed a bolo and that dragon YCS both by a matter of minutes. I only hope my luck is better if a kerambit ever shows up. :o

*Edit: I just got a 15" Pen in the mail so I've been thinking about them a bit. From what I've seen (online only) the 18" Pen is very, very similar to the 18" WWII. I can't say if I'd take one over the other, but as far as Pens go I would certainly pick a 12" or 15" before an 18". Just my two cents.

Thanks for sharing guys. I ran back thru the forum and it seems most agree the 15" pen is the one to have.....therefore,

email sent on pen...hope it's still available

I really really like my 12" pen. The handle is just a skosh smaller than optimal, but it is no big deal. Sooo nicely balanced. Has proved a great campfire knife so far. 15" might be just that much better. 18", for me, would be overboard in this model. Good luck, CallsThunder!

I guarantee you'll love it. I've been a fan of the 12" Pen Knives ever since they came out, and always wished for one with a slightly longer handle, and a slightly longer/heavier blade. I've got one of the 15" PK villagers, and I'm absolutely delighted with it. Big enough to do real work, while small/light enough to carry comfortably, it's a simple, rugged, khukuri that's a joy to own and use. Nice snag. :D
