I bought one of your PSK Jr in green canvas, and I have tried my hand at sharpening this littel sucker to no avail.

I don't know I just can't figure it out.

I've sharpened convex before, so I'm wondering what you do to sharpen your knives?
What grit paper, what angle, etc?

Do you make kydex sheaths? If you do I'd like one for the PSK Jr.

thanks

They aren't fully convexed. The edge is still a V-grind, a pretty thick one at that (at least mines is). So if you are stropping try increasing the angle a little bit at a time. Magic marker trick does wonders.

I recommend using a diamond hone as the hardness is about 60/61 rc. There is a secondary convex bevel. You will have to sharpen at a higher angle. What I use is an Eze-Lap flat two sided (coarse/fine) sharpener that folds into the handle. Hold the knife in your weak hand, start at the plunge line and sharpen toward the point rolling off the edge, sharpening away from the edge. Marking the edge with a Sharpie marker will help you see where you are hitting. Turn the knife over and do the same thing. Check out the thread on my forum "Sharpening the PSK" on page 4.

I do make neck carry kydex for them. You will have to send the knife back to be fitted. I can redo the edge for you if you'd like.

thanks for the help on this Scott, I finally figured it out, almost. I don't have it as sharp as I would like, but it is most definately is sharp enough, so I'm gonna keep at it with this one. And I'm about to get some kydex making stuff of my own too!

Any word on your new pocket size?

Glad to help. Keep at it. Try diamond abrasives. They save time. Email me for details if you are interested in the pocket size.
