I'm hoping the crew here can clue me in...TIA...

First,on these Case TB swaybacks,I once saw an individual example with a double bombshell shield & bone scales,on auction
Was this, the knife out of the 3 knife set #7166 ? Or is there another Case item that I saw. It had like dark brownish bone scales

Next,a Kabar ques ? A 70's era jack... #1026,what size is this closed
If anyone ever had one,how is the costruction on it,overall ?

Thanks Again,
-Vince

Vince,

The Ka-bar looks to be about 3 inches closed.

Vince,

I've never seen the knife you described outside the 7166 commemorative set. This doesn't mean it wasn't available but I would hope I would have seen it if it was. The jigged molasses bone is very nice.

I had a 3 blade late 60's era Kabar stockman with a delrin like scale jigged. The scales did not match up to the bolsters ,and you could have shoved a playing card between the liner and the spring. I was not that impressed. I was a little dissapointed, but I have no way of knowing if it was a factory second possibly, so I do not want to be overly negative biased. I think the scales shrunk slightly because they had a gap between the bolsters and the scale as well.

Yeah J.,A guy on fleabay had one & buy it now, too.I'm not sure of the price,it was not too much higher than the red stag version,if I recall.I,for some reason, did not buy it,kicking myself now.I realize now it's out of that set & since I never saw one photographed like that,I was not sure what it was...

I hate to be a bother ,but I am still un clear as to the Case Swayback jack I saw on the Bay.
Now,I just pulled the trigger on one that was from a busted up set,the 7166 set
It has ,like a bow tie shield or some type of shield like that,or perhaps a prop or a gimp (I'll postpics w/ I get it) & has what they call dark mollasses bone. So seeing it now, outside the 3 set box & in detail :

I know, this was Not the knife I originally inquired about in the beginning of this thread

The one I saw,had a bomshell shield with Case in it & the bone was a real dark brown.
Does anyone know of this ? I recall the seller saying it was from a tour that Tony did, with Case & limited production
Any help appreciated,Thanks,
-Vince
