This is from the 2001-2002 Volvo Ocean Race (formerly Whitbread) which is multi-leg ‘round the world race held race held every four years.

This year’s race is going to be in new 70 footers, with lots more new generation onboard cameras so should be pretty interesting.

“Movistar, one of two boats in the water so far has broken a world record sailing 530.19 nautical miles in a 24 hour period. (That’s for monohulls)

I've only sailed once, at a 'team-building' event. Loved it. Our team won.

It hurt the sponsor's pocketbook too, that spinnaker looks pretty trashed.
